Five Fact Friday ~ 5/28/10 {Lincoln, NE Newborn Photographer}

1. Finished up client orders this week. I didn't take a photo of my packaging this week but I bet the kiddos mom will agree it was pretty darn cute if I do say so myself. I think I'm finally getting in the groove with packaging. ;) Next up, the web-site dun-dun-dunnnnn...

2. Hoping to get a couple newborn props ordered this week. Thinking a little black petti-skirt and a knit ear-flap boy hat. If I'm counting right I should have hopefully 4 newborn sessions between now and the end of the year. Newborns are a LOT of work to photograph but some of the most rewarding. You can almost smell their sweet baby smells through the photos. ;) I heart babies! ;)

Anyway, here are some great companies for kid props if anyone ever wants to bring their own props to a shoot they are more than welcome! ;)

3. New camera body should be arriving any minute now. Not sure how soon I'll be using it in the studio, it's going to have a bit larger learning curve to master. I love online package tracking but at the same time absolutely despise it too. I get so frustrated because you can see that your package is in Omaha but won't be delivered until tomorrow?!?!?! UGH! I would TOTALLY drive to Omaha to pick it up if it means getting it 12 hours sooner! ;) I feel like the little girl on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory "I want it now! I want it right now!!" ;)

4. Finished up my first baby quilt last weekend. It's getting shipped off this week to my … I guess you could call her my Great Niece … I've always thought of myself as a Great Aunt, get it GREAT Aunt … hahaha. My hubby's family tree is so big it often starts to get a little complicated. ;) ANYWAY … I just know she will love it! I hope it brings lots of sweet dreams. I actually can't wait to make another! I wish someone would hurry up and find out that they're having a girl because I have an awesome idea for a girl baby quilt!

5. Happy Memorial Day everyone!! Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend. The in-laws got a new tube thing for the little (and big) boys to ride in behind the boat. That should be good! ;) We'll all wish for warm and sun-shiny weather! ;) Have a great one! I know I'm excited for 3 whole weekend days with my new camera! :) *jumping up and down (and maybe screeching a little* ;)

Five Fact Friday ~ 5/21/10 {Lincoln, NE Photographer}

1. Going to have the best Friday EVER!! Taking a half day off of work to hang out with my mom! :) JUST me & mom tomorrow. Hitting a quilting store or two, grab some lunch maybe head to a mall in Omaha ... awesome!

2. Proof that I did actually graduate last weekend ... :) :) :)

3. Had a great first week of blastball. Coach dad did a great job. Though it took X a while to realize that HE is not the coach too just because his dad is. All the kids had a blast!

Coach Dad (I can put this up without him being mad at me because I know he never reads my blog - lol):

Coach X:

4. Also, got some great track footage ...

5. Have a shoot this weekend ... watch for the sneak peek later this weekend. Remember the little baby in the red tutu ... she's coming back this weekend for her 18 month shoot along with her big sis this time too! I can't wait to do a great job for dad on family photos since he did such a great job on my logo!!! :)

1. Looking forward to graduation on Sat. Mostly I just really want a picture of me with my boys in my cap & gown. :) AND I get to wear my new pearls that the boys got me. *heart*

2. Mother's day gifts went over really well with the grandma's (of course.) I even got my photo gifts on time! Yea Miller's!!! :) I ordered them (and me) these adorable little 3x3 mini accordion albums from X's session a couple weeks ago.

I tried to sew little covers for my adorable little mini albums so they wouldn't be damaged in purses but …. it turns out my sewing skills are still not quite there yet. Fortunately I have a husband who is VERY good at conceptualizing things so HE made all of the covers! Everyone was very impressed! :)

3. I printed out only my absolute favorite photos for X's school project. From January to May I had almost 90 favorites! And I haven't been bringing my camera as much lately. Is there a such thing as shutters anonymous?

4. 'TracyV Photography' Tracy is mostly just working on getting client orders placed and finishing up with last week's session. Not too much new this week. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

5. We had a great time at X's preschool picnic lunch today though I have to say that I can't remember the last time I drank milk from a carton and now I remember why. ;)

6. Bonus since I'm late ... a sneak peek of a baby quilt I have been working on. :) Not sure exactly who it's for yet ...

One more in honor of Mother's Day!

This last shot wasn't even supposed to happen but I'm so glad it did. From a photographer's perspective it was probably my favorite of the day.

Happy mother's day to all the mother's out there!!! :)

So cute! Sneak peek {Lincoln, NE Family Photographer}

As always I had such a blast with these kiddos! They were so full of energy and did some awesome head stand/cartwheel like tricks AWESOME. lol ;) Little miss A was SO comfortable in front of the camera. She had no problems posing. And brother did really good until he saw the swing set outside then we couldn't keep him away from the window ... poor thing, it was torture. ;) They also had the privilege of hosting an exchange student. She is such a sweet and very photogenic girl.

1. I have a serious problem with procrastination in my personal life, which is funny considering I am Miss.ON-THE-BALL at work and with my photography business. I think I just wear myself out with everything else that MY to-do list sometimes gets put off. This week I almost missed Xavier's preschool registration AND I ordered photo mother's day gifts one day past the deadline! :( BAD ME!! So I'll have to think of something before Sunday. Time to get my creative juices flowing …

2. Looking forward to meeting some new clients for a shoot this weekend! :) Watch for the sneak peek later this weekend. ;)

3. Mother's Day this weekend!! Don't forget to tell your Mommy how much you love her! :)

A little shout out to my mom … Happy Mother's Day Mom!!! I love you! :)

4. Xavier started attending daycare at my friend's house this week. WOW what a difference! He absolutely LOVES it there and has been so chipper all week! He's even been walking around singing everywhere he goes. :) I feel so privileged to be his mommy! :)

5. I have been obsessed with consistent color schemes lately. Everything has to coordinate! This years colors for mother's day are black, gray and yellow (to match X's pics below.) ;) I even made custom "takeout" style boxes for their gifts. (cue my sister-in-law Lisa rolling her eyes at me) ;) I'll post pics of mother's day gifts after Sunday, I promise!

A couple more X pics just for the heck of it ...

A Photographer's Dream {Lincoln, NE Children's Photographer}

I have to say I think my little boy is absolutely adorable. I know I'm a little biased, but SERIOUSLY how cute are these pics?!?! So nice to have a built in model to use for practice ... when he's willing to cooperate that is. ;) So, this is a little sneak peek for me (and Grammy.) ;)
