Five Fact Friday ~ 1-29-10 {Lincoln, NE Photographer}

1. So, I got my new glasses this week. I had them in middle school but haven't needed any since then … until now. I thought my eyes would at least hold out until I hit 30. ;) If only I had $325 for the cute black Kate Spade purse too, unforetunately you can't buy a purse with your HSA account. ;)

2. Had the most fun ever photographing X's class!!! It's so much fun to take photos of the kids just being themselves. *heart* I think I ended up taking about 15 "keepers" of each child (and there are 17 kiddos!!!) Here are a couple of X's ...
X even got to be the "equipment helper" that day too but I'm pretty sure he skipped out on his duty of fish feeding ... oops.

That little gaze and half smile into the camera that he has mastered just makes my little mommy heart melt. :)

3. My little boy is so sweet he got an idea that it would be nice if he would surprise me and send his dad out to buy me a new brownie pan … not sure if he was being nice or just wanted me to make him brownies ... ;) sneaky sneaky I suppose he got it from his dad because instead of buying me a new brownie pan they wrapped up my old one! Lol :)

4. I was hoping to have photos of my float wrap to put up by today but sadly the UPS person has not made it to my home yet. I'm just glad it's mine and not a clients. ;) Note to self, float wraps have a longer production time. I'm sure it will be well worth the wait once I get it.

5. Last but not least, the winner of the Fave 9 of '09 contest … *drum roll* …………..
#8 Newborn baby E, with a good chunk of the votes AND from 8 different states, I think mom worked for this one!! I'll get your 11x14 ordered this week so clear some wall space! :)

Five Fact Friday ~ 1.22.10 {Lincoln NE photographer}

1. I found my Macy Grey CD in the bottom of my center console. *heart* I apologize if you saw me rocking out the other day around 4:30. BTW I have the WORST singing voice EVER.

2. I had such a GREAT time at my sessions from last weekend. It's so amazing to me how much those shoots really lift my spirits on yucky cold winter days. I think everyone else had fun too. :) (especially a certain big-sister to be with the left over strawberry ice cream.) :)

3. Keep checking back in the near future for some new and exciting shoot ideas that I have been contemplating … like pre-prom shoots. ;) fun fun!!!!

4. I like to teach my son about subjects that are probably a little older than he is really ready for. The other day we were talking about types of matter: solid, liquid, gas (no, we didn't get into plasma, etc…) So I asked the next day if he remembered what the types were, he says "strawberry milk, chocolate milk, and white milk." :)

5. I recently heard about the coolest custom knit hat web-site ever!! I haven't decided what to order but I'm thinking I could use a couple newborn hats and maybe one or two of the slings/cocoons … check 'em out!! www.sweetyarn.com And check out my exciting photography finds for the week … tiny baby bed *swoon* and LOVIN' my new gray background, so versatile. ;)Can you just picture a brand new little one curled up in that bed!?!?!?!

Baby BUMP

We finally got this lovely fam in for maternity pics. I have to say mom looks great (much better than I did at about 35 weeks!!!) I had the pleasure of meeting the soon to be big sister and let me tell you there that little bebe will be WELL loved! If little sis is 1/2 as adorable as big sister dad is in for trouble in about 15 years!:)

I have to say the pickles and ice cream weren't my original idea but definitely my own execution! TOO FUNNY!! :) Like the belly shelf?!?! lol

Please feel free to leave comments too. :) ENJOY your sneak peek!!! :)

Tough little pretty princess - {Lincoln NE Photographer}

I had the privilege of photographing this ADORABLE little baby girl at only 7 days old. I can't believe it has actually been 3 months since I last saw her! The poor little thing was getting a cold and missed a good hour of her morning nap so we started off a little rough but we all made it through and mom even got a couple smiles out of her. I'm pretty sure she is going to be mama's girl all the way. :) I see lots of shopping trips and nail painting in their future. ;)

On a side note this little cutie is currently in the lead for the 'fave 9 of '09' contest, with votes from 6 states! :)

Five Fact Friday

Hoping to get this up every Friday - just for fun

1. My little monster LOVES monster trucks, more accurately he is OBSESSED. Last weekend we surprised him with tickets to Monster Jam. :) It was very last minute so I didn't get to bring my nice cam but got some decent shots from my point and shoot. :)

2. X woke up early with me this morning and packed my lunch bag for me all by himself. *heart*

3. Attn Brides (& anyone else looking to throw a fabulous shindig) I found an amazing new product in my latest issue of Martha Stewart Living. I can't wait to have any excuse to get some myself, check it out … www.photofetti.com

4. So geared up for my shoots this weekend. A three month and a maternity session!!! :) Have I mentioned that I LOVE babies. ;) Watch out for some sneak peeks later this week.

5. Hoping to get some new studio shots this weekend with my boys! Wish me luck!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!

The "official" blog!!!

Hello!!! Welcome to the official blog of TracyV Photography!!! ;) I really love how that sounds! ;) I can't tell you all how excited I am to finally have the time to embark on such business building adventures like finally creating a blog and thinking about working on an official TracyV Photography logo and color scheme.

I began my endeavor of TracyV Photography only a year ago as a small part time business. I had no idea what would come of it, or if it would be something that I would want to spend all my extra time and effort on with the million other things going on in my life. Through my precise calculations I decided that it would be a year at least before I would start to get any real clients (ya know ones that would pay me to have their photos taken rather than me paying them to model.) ;) After all it seemed like perfect timing I was to graduate in December so I thought by 2010 I would be able to really get cooking … or clicking. LOL (I apologize now for this and more corniness to come.) Well, like always, things didn't quite happen as planned. The first year of TracyV Photography was even more phenomenal than I could have ever imagined. As it turns out I am actually pretty decent at what I do and people took notice. (toot toot - my own horn) The clients came flooding in along with the work from my final year of undergrad school, not to mention keeping up with my FT day J.O.B. and being Mommy and Wifey. *Whew* I'm tired just thinking about it. However, we all made it through, everyone received their Christmas photos in time, and as promised after 8 long years of working full time and attending school I have finally earned my Bachelor's in Business Administration (with an emphasis in Accounting, and a Minor in Communication) from Nebraska Wesleyan University!!! WOO HOO!!!

Though I can honestly say that I feel very fortunate that things happened like they did and I wouldn't change a thing. I have got to meet and work with so many amazing families throughout the year and look forward to watching all of the kiddos that I have met grow through the years. I have to thank everyone that has stuck with me though the year while I got a feel for the business. If last year was the year of learning this year will be the year of consistency. I'm working on a final business model that I hope to carry throughout the years. Also hoping to get a logo and set business colors, packaging, etc in place so that we can move easily into the future together. ;)

There is one other unexpected event that happened in 2009 worth mentioning. After well over 2 years on the market we have finally sold our home and have decided that in order to build our final and most fantastic home, complete with my very own beautiful studio, (screech) :) we would have to make some sacrifices in the mean time, which means living in an apartment - wah wah. However, my in-laws have graciously supplied me with a key to their home which is the temporary studio space for TracyV Photography. I actually have a pretty decent set up there and hope that once the ground thaws we will be able to creep closer to that dream studio of mine. ;)

By the way, I'm very windy. I'll stop now. Please keep following the blog!!! :) I will now be posting sneak peeks here as well as new exciting studio news and DISCOUNTS and PROMOTIONS!!! ;)

AND check out the site, I have updated the galleries and layout a little!! www.tracyvphotography.com

Well it wouldn't be a photography blog without some photography. So here are my favorite 9 of '09. Let me tell you what I must have the most BEAUTIFUL clients EVER! I was so close to posting my favorite 2,009 photos of the year but decided I just had to draw the line somewhere. Let's get this going right with a little competition. Vote on your favorite photo from 2009 and the winner with the most votes by 1/29/10 will win an 11x14 print with lustre coating of the winning photo. :) Feel free to pass the blog on to family and friends to get those votes in!

Enjoy!!! :)

(I'm still getting a hang of this blog thing so if you would like to see larger images they are all available on the front slideshow of my site. :)
